The First International Conference on Virtual Archaeology will be organized by the Department of the Eastern Europe and Siberian Archaeology of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg (Russian Federation).

Virtual Archaeology is a new term not yet clear defined. Organizers believe the fruitful discussions on the theoretical aspects of the topic, up-today computer technologies for the archaeological prospecting, data processing, modeling, archaeological reconstructions and visualizations. The conference is aiming to constitute close contacts between the specialists in the field of the computer applied methods in archaeology. Our intention is also to attract the young specialists, to open them a chance to participate in the complex international and European projects as well as in the special conferences and seminars. The extended abstracts with illustrations in two languages (Russian & English) will be issued in a special volume of scientific works publishing at the State Hermitage Museum.
