Appel à contribution - Socio-Environmental Dynamics over the Last 12,000 Years

The Graduate School “Human Development in Landscapes” at Kiel University is glad to announce the international Open Workshop “Socio-Environmental Dynamics over the Last 12,000 Years: The Creation of Landscapes III”. It will take place in Kiel from the 15th to the 18th of April, 2013 for the third time after 2009 and 2011.
This workshop aims to bring together researchers from different disciplines to discuss the interaction between physical and social landscapes as the most profound process that catalyses human activities in space and time; and the interplay of environments, social relationships, material culture, population dynamics, and human perceptions of socio-environmental change.
In its third edition, the single sessions will cover aspects of Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Age studies as well as aspects of Greek and Roman history. Further sessions will deal with diachronic approaches or methodological questions concerning, for example, data management.
Call for Abstracts :
Abstracts addressing one or more of the 15 sessions are welcome by 4th of January, 2013. You will find more information about the sessions aims and the call for abstracs under the tab “Workshop Sessions” and Call for abstracts:

Note: Authors who submit abstracts are not automatically registered for the meeting. They must register in 2013 and pay the respective conference fees (fee for presenters: 50 €, students presenting: 25€) and cover their accommodation and travel costs. A limited number of travel grants up to 350 € will be available for outstanding submissions by PhD or MA students. There is no abstract submission fee.
